Well, just a day after the Dev-Team released PwnageTool 4.3 and Redsn0w 0.9.6rc9, FireCore has updated their Seas0nPass code allowing for a completely automated jailbreak of your Apple TV 2 running the latest firmware.
When using PwnageTool, (see our Apple TV 2 guide) there are some issues with the jailbreak on the Apple TV such as no audio being delivered in XBMC and SMB share issues. None of these issues are present when jailbreaking via Seas0nPass.
Seas0nPass can be downloaded for both Mac OS X and Windows here.
Please note you can ignore the tethered boot instructions as this is an untethered jailbreak.
If you’re an XBMC user, you will want to install a nightly build that has hardware acceleration working. See our post Apple TV, iOS 4.3.1, and XBMC.
