Rumor: iPhone 5 Launching In October, Not September

We’ve had previous reports of Apple’s iPhone 5 being set to launch in September but one source says it won’t be out until October.

The tipster tells AllThingsD that despite rumors of AT&T blacking out employee vacations during late September, the iPhone 5 will not launch then.

“I don’t know why AT&T’s calling for all hands on deck those weeks, but it’s not for an iPhone launch,” a source familiar with Apple’s plans said.

So, when can we expect the company to uncrate the iPhone 5?

“October,” the source said, while declining to offer a hard launch date. Other sources said it will be later in the month rather than earlier.

The iPhone 5 is expected to include a dual core A5 processor similar to the iPad, 8MP camera and and a dual GSM/CDMA chip.
